Leadership Links Fundraiser

Leadership Links Fundraiser

February 19, 2020 Posted by Carter Stroup

I am excited to announce that I will be raising money for The Catfish Jake Foundation and the AJGA ACE Grant through the AJGA Leadership Links program. This fundraiser will begin on March 5, and it will end on November 1. You can make a one-time donation, or you can pledge an amount for every birdie that I make in a competitive match. You can donate here: https://legacy.ajga.org/ll/Member/Default.aspx?uid=261538. Any and all donations are very much appreciated! Below I will go into more detail on what The Catfish Jake Foundation and ACE Grant benefits.

What is Leadership Links

Leadership Links is a program run by the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) that gives competitive junior golfers the chance to raise money for a foundation of their choice. The program was started in 2009 and has since raised over $2.9 million and supported over 2,300 charities.

What is the ACE Grant

Along with supporting The Catfish Jake Foundation, your dollars will also support the AJGA Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant. The ACE Grant supports juniors who aspire to play in elite tournaments but do not have the financial resources to do so. Since this scholarship was started in 2003, it has reimbursed $4 million to over 2,000 juniors and has allowed these juniors to earn over $15 million in college scholarships. What is The Catfish Jake Foundation

The Catfish Jake Foundation’s goal is to help others through congenital heart defect (CHD) awareness, addiction support, and music education. Jacob Waddell got his nickname from throwing a catfish on the ice during the 2017 Stanley Cup Finals between the Nashville Predators and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Waddell turned the media attention he received into an opportunity to raise awareness and money for three things that are important to him. His son, Brooks, was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect when he was two months old. His mother battled with addiction until her death. And a friend of his, musician Jamie Simmons, died in a tragic car wreck. To learn more, or to donate directly to the Catfish Jake Foundation, click here.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the ACE Grant and The Catfish Jake Foundation are two wonderful charities that benefit great causes. I look forward to raising money for these two charities this season, and I hope you will help me in my endeavor. To make a one-time donation or pledge an amount per birdie, click here.
